Joining TVChix: The Online Space That Changed My CD Experience

05/13/2025 - BY Lisa

I made a New Year’s resolution to try and get more involved in crossdressing communities and to be a bit more outgoing with my femme side in 2025.

I thought about what I wanted to achieve and how to go about achieving it, and decided that starting out online would be best. Of course, there are hundreds of different social networks out there, so which one to join?

I knew about the usual sites where crossdressers usually post photos, chat, or look for meet-ups. However, I wasn’t sure I wanted the sexual implications that come with making a Grindr profile or a more explicit Reddit account.

I did some research and ended up creating accounts on two or three different sites. The best one has been TVChix.com; I’ve really been enjoying my experience there. Let me tell you about it.

Starting Out

I found out about TVChix.com by reading some comments on Reddit.

Someone on Reddit has asked about a good and safe place online for crossdressers to meet each other, and one commenter mentioned tvchix.com. Other posts mentioned FetLife, Grindr, or other more niche websites, which I didn’t bother with.

The most popular option was FetLife, which I joined initially, but soon after I made an account on TVChix. It’s a website based out of the United Kingdom, and most of the users are located in the UK. There are quite a few members in Europe, too.

Joining the site is simple enough, and you just need an email address like most social networks. I was able to quickly add a lot of information and upload some photos of myself dressed up.

The site asks everyone to provide some basic information in your profile; your location, interests, nothing that’s out of the ordinary.

However, they do ask you to describe your appearance, either while dressed or just in general. I quickly noticed that the more information and photos you add to your profile, the more visitors your page will get.

After a few days, I had some messages in my inbox and comments on my photos. What’s more, all of the messages and comments were friendly, respectful and kind!

What Is Available on the Site

TVChix has a lot of amazing features.

The thing that has struck me is that this site has most of the features of a traditional social network, like chatting, sharing photos and messaging.

Because the website is free to use, most of these features are available for free to users. Some functions lie behind a paywall; however, the website is run on a donation basis, so you can choose to contribute or not.

If you donate a bit of money to the website, it will unlock all the features.

Let me outline some of the things you can find on this website; there is quite a lot, and it’s mostly free!

To begin, I’ll get the simple stuff out of the way first. The website has a search function, and you can look for people with similar interests, or just in your local area. The search results can be filtered with a number of different criteria.

You can send messages to anyone on the platform for free as well; there is no paywall for messaging. I thought this was a big advantage of this platform, usually online communities will ask for money in order to actually get in touch with people. Sending messages might be free, but reading them sometimes isn’t.

Other features that are built into the platform really make it worth joining.

I’ve found areas for classified ads for items for sale or exchange. There are also forums to discuss any number of topics similar to a blog.

The most interesting to me were the ads for makeover services for crossdressers throughout the UK and some in the US or Europe. I also found a directory of CD/TV/TG friendly venues with a calendar of CD/TV/TG friendly events.

Before I go on vacation, I usually check if there is any place I can spend some girly time. Finding this area of the website has been a real game-changer.

I never had any idea there were so many people offering makeover services in the UK and even a few more overseas. The listings of venues and events are also some of the most comprehensive I’ve seen online, and these aren’t confined to just the UK, which is wonderful.

What I’ve Been Doing

Since I joined the site, I’ve been scrolling and clicking around. I mostly started by doing some searches for people near me.

I’m not in the UK, and I didn’t anticipate finding many users nearby. I did have more people close to my city than I thought. I’ve been clicking on other people’s profiles and checking out pictures from time to time.

You can rate photos that you think are nice or sexy and the website has a monthly competition for the top girls or top photos on the site.

A few days after joining the site, I logged back in and saw that I had new messages in my inbox.

Some other lovely crossdressers had seen that I was a new member and just wanted to say hello and wish me well. There were some unwanted messages from men looking to hook up with a CD, but even these messages were not rude and didn’t make me feel uncomfortable.

I asked someone in a chat room about the messages. They told me that the moderators on the site are real humans, not bots, and tend to be quite strict with unwanted, abusive messages. As a result, people keep things polite and respectful and check before talking about more sexual topics.

The feature I’ve been using the most is the chat room. Now I know that chat rooms are a bit retro and dated. However, I really enjoyed jumping into the chat here.

I’ve gotten in touch with a number of CDs from around the world and talked about any number of common interests, tastes, kinks and styles. Going from having almost zero CD connections to a lot of chat buddies was quite a lot, but everyone was supportive and complimentary.

I get the sense that there are a lot of CDs supporting other CDs feeling in the chat, and there isn’t gossip or backbiting.

The more I chatted with people, the more I learned about the site and where the users are located. I also got more traffic to my profile and messages in my inbox.

It’s been lovely getting to know a group of people as my femme persona first. I’m hoping this is how it feels when women make a new group of girlfriends, because it’s lovely finally having a few people to chat with, even if only online.

How It Compares to Other Similar Online Communities

I’ve been pleasantly surprised with TVChix. I prefer it to other online communities for crossdressers or online platforms that cater to the CD/TV/TG community.

I have joined some other sites and downloaded some apps in the past, but none had the community focus of TVChix.

Other websites are far more focused on sexual exploits or based around the kink side of crossdressing. When I compare TVChix with Fetlife, most of the communication I got on Fet was sexual or suggestive, but on TVChix, it was much more friendly and easy going. I didn’t feel threatened at all.

Conclusion

All in all, I’m very happy as a member of this community, and I think I will stay for a while. Finding a supportive place where we can feel safe to be ourselves isn’t easy for us, crossdressers. I had been having the hardest time making connections online; now I realize I was just using the wrong platforms. Reddit, Fetlife, and other websites are a bit too kink-focused for me. The other users seem to think that it is an invitation to be more explicit than they would be in a real-life meeting.

I’ve been really heartened by the supportiveness of the other users on TVChix. I appreciate that the filters and functions on the site can keep communication safe and comfortable. If you do get a rude message, moderators are responsive and take action. Also, because the site is run for the benefit of the users as opposed to some company, there is a friendlier, more respectful, more communitarian feel to the whole experience.

If you’re a Crossdresser looking for a nice safe place to spend some time, share your experiences or find some friends, TVChix might be a good place to look. Most users are in the UK, but new people are joining all the time and there are a large number of users in the US and Europe too. Either way, if you choose to join, I hope your experience is as positive as mine has been. Maybe I’ll see you in the chat!
