How and Why Crossdressers Can Protect Their Privacy
Today I’m going to be talking about privacy, a pretty common concern for every crossdresser out there. I think everyone should explore their feminine side every once in a while. But some think that we should censor this natural and raw energy within us. That’s why in this article I’ll be giving you all the tips you need to keep your privacy and enjoy your femininity safely!
Privacy and keeping your files and identity secure is becoming harder every day. Because many crossdressers prefer to keep this lifestyle separate from their daily life, I thought this article would come in handy for all of you! If you want to learn how to keep your secret gallery and identity private, keep reading!
1. Locking Your Devices with a Password
Pretty basic but sometimes easy to forget when setting up a new device. This is not something you should do only on the device you are using for exploring your crossdressing. Having your devices secured with a password helps you track them and recover the data you have on them in case it gets lost or stolen. And because nowadays banks and wallet apps are very common, we better keep our money and credentials secure, right? Using a biometric recognition method to unlock your device is great if you trust the manufacturer’s technology. Nevertheless, this doesn’t mean you should forget about setting up a secure password. Try to use at least ten characters and different characters, numbers, signs, and any other you can according to the possibilities. Note it down in a secure place if you are going for an intricate password!
2. Encrypting Your Files
Whether you are using a computer, phone, tablet, or similar, there are some built-in ways you can easily do this. But first, let me explain why this is so important to do on your devices. This fancy word is used to describe a computing process by which your files become unreadable unless you have the password for them. Unfortunately, this means another password you have to remember or note down if you don’t want to forget about it.
Needless to say, you shouldn’t share any of these passwords with anyone! This way you can rest assured no one will get a hand on your pictures and files of any kind! For mobile devices, you can follow this easy guide. And if you are also using a computer with any operative system (OS) use this other one. Don’t forget to encrypt your backup drives too!
Why Do You Need Different Accounts or Devices?
No one denies it is an absolute drag to remember many different passwords. But using separate accounts for diverse purposes is kind of a must these days. Many crossdressers start exploring their desires and fantasies online. And even though the technology is great for bringing us all together, there are still people behind the other side of the screen. And there are still a lot of evil people on the internet. Avoid sharing your personal info with random strangers. You must be alert at all times to avoid getting scammed or catfished. The virtual privacy measures in this article will help you stay safe while you explore your deepest fantasies!
Using a Password Manager App
If you really have it with remembering countless different passwords, there are some useful apps to help you with that. 1Password is a great password manager application that’s available in most browsers as an extension, or for iOS and Android devices too. In spite of being a great password manager, I would only use it for low-priority accounts, but that’s really up to you. If you have an iPadOS or iOS device, a service like this will be available with the upcoming OS update. If that’s the case, you will just have to remember your passwords for a little longer! Still, you must remember your password for this service and must be very careful on which devices you give it permission. You don’t want anybody finding out your master key!
Diversify Your Browsing
This is essential to prevent your browsing experience from becoming a dead giveaway! If you are a social person, more often than not you will be handing your phone to someone or showing something on it. Never mind that! Just checking something on your phone while in public if you leave your browser open on a “sketchy” site, might cause you a pretty uncomfortable moment.
That is why I strongly recommend using not only different accounts but also different browsers. Using one for your daily browsing while the other for your more private times can help you avoid a situation like the one mentioned before. Also, make sure you separate your accounts and browsers. In addition to embarrassing situations, this prevents crossdressing related ads when you don’t want them appearing. Lastly, using private browsing mode will block some ad trackers, but your browsing history and account info won’t be saved.
Getting Extra Private with VPN
If you have extra concerns with your privacy, there’s always the VPN solution. VPN is the acronym for Virtual Private Network, and basically, it hides the identity of the device and internet you are using. VPN services offer the possibility for you to disguise the unique ID of your device and the location from which it connects. This means you can make the servers believe you are visiting it from Japan even though you are in Spain! It’s a great thing to have to access content that’s blocked in your native region.
Some browsers have a VPN in them, like Brave, which I think you should try! A great example of a VPN service is TunnelBear, which has a free option you can try before upgrading if necessary! Remember that a VPN WON’T prevent you from being tracked if you are targeted by a specialist. It will definitely make it harder, though.
Downloading Suspicious Files
In case nobody told you before, you shouldn’t go blindly downloading files from any website. In fact, there are many great websites where you can download useful virus-free files, but their download links are next to other misleading ones that can cause some damage to your computer. Malware has always been a great concern in the digital world and the trend doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon.
Not even great companies like Sony, Google, Apple, or Facebook are free from privacy-related scandals. Treasure your personal information a lot, because it is worth a lot. Especially when every company in the world is making a business out of it. Using ad blockers on your browser will prevent many harmful links from even appearing. Of course, be very careful when you are installing new apps from unverified developers. This is very important and should always triple-check the program’s provider.
Do You Need an Antivirus?
With all this talk about malware, it is easy to get paranoid, right? Well, in most cases this is only a concern if you have a very old device. In which case, you will have to be extra careful with the security measures you take to prevent your info. Each of the most used OS in the world has a built-in antivirus that is regularly updated with each new iteration of it. This also includes portable devices like cellphones and tablets. That’s why you shouldn’t miss any of the updates. Unsupported devices are left with the old malware database, making them more vulnerable to malicious attacks. Antivirus services are now more or less on par with the built-in protection on your operative system, making it for most an unnecessary expense. Better off spending it on beautiful clothes!
Getting Rid of the Metadata
The last thing I want to address is a very important one if you like to share files online. Who hasn’t ever sent a sexy pic of themselves with the best outfit on? Or upload it on a website to see the reaction? The thing is, files record certain information about the device it was created on. Model number, the name of the device, location, and other data you are better keeping to yourself. Removing this info is key to safely exploring every fantasy of yours online! If you normally use a computer for this purpose, you can get rid of all the metadata on your files with this simple tutorial. For those on their mobile devices, you can delete this hidden info following these simple steps! Don’t worry too much about the files you sent in the past, though. Most social apps remove this data which becomes encrypted as you send it!
Time to get tidy up your digital world! I’m sure most, if not all of us here had a moment when we made a mistake and our crossdressing almost got discovered. I’m sure I have! I hope I have helped you all be more aware of the importance of your info and learned how to take care of it! Time to doll up and explore your desires without concerns! Take good care of yourselves! See you soon!
