My Favorite Crossdressing and Trans Music Artists

04/27/2022

Hello, lovelies! Today, I come with a very fun and special post about my favorite crossdressers and trans artists who defy all-gender frontiers.

From all over the world, these musicians fight for inclusion through their shows.

Visualization is very important when we talk about breaking stereotypes.

And what better way to do this with music.

Since the beginning of time, music has had a very powerful effect on the human psyche.

That’s why I find not only pleasure when listening to these artists but also inspiration.

Every once in a while, we get a little tired of listening to the same over and over again.

If you are looking for some new tunes for that playlist of yours, explore new sonic horizons with the artists below!

1. Yungblud (Pop/Punk)

Relatively new to the scene and with a very clear fashion statement.

Born in 1997 in England, Dominic Richard Harrison couldn’t care less about dress standards.

You can find him dressed in many androgynous outfits and other straight-out feminine.

Already with his debut album in 2018, “21st Century Liability,” he started making some noise.

More recently, he released his second album named “Weird.”

If you were into the punk/rock scene of the mid-90s and early 00s, you can’t miss it.

He is not only a great artist but also an activist, and he is against gun violence.

“Parents” and “Strawberry Lipstick” are some of my favorite songs.

2. Pabllo Vittar (Electronic/Pop)

Pabhullo da Silva is a drag queen from the hot and wet (pun intended) country of Brazil.

His music will surely make you stand up and let it all out!

Since he was very little, he loved singing and dancing for his family.

Even though he tried studying at the university, after a while, he dropped off and focused on his music career.

With a mix of regional sounds and electronic and pop influences from all over the world, his music is the soundtrack of my feel-good days.

In 2017, he released his debut album and became a regional success.

Breaking all the gender barriers like any other drag queen would, from the corners of South America.

3. Kim Petras (Pop)

From controversy at a very young age to a world star.

This adorable lady knew what she was from the start despite being born in the wrong body.

That is not only a woman but a great singer and musician, too!

Born in 1992 in Germany, she debuted internationally with “I Don’t Want It at All” in 2017.

Since then, it’s been a straight upward journey. She even played at MTV’s!

Modern pop/EDM music is mostly what you find in her three albums so far.

The perfect soundtrack for a party warm-up!

4. Babasónicos (Pop/Rock/Alternative)

Back in the early ’90s, when no one dared to defy the norm in Argentina, these guys played dressed in feminine outfits.

Even though they started as an experimental punk band, they gradually found their distinctive sound.

They now sound like nothing you ever heard before.

With their music, they create a very calm and chill ambiance.

You don’t have to understand the lyrics to the emotions through the waves of their songs.

But it can be a good place to start learning some Spanish!

Songs like El Loco,” “Los Calientes,” or “Cómo Eran las Cosas” are among my all-time favorites!

They are still doing a great job at it!

5. David Bowie (Pop/Rock/Alternative)

What else can I say from the king himself that no one has ever said?

Bowie was one of the first, if not the very first, ones who cared little to nothing when dressing in feminine garments.

He represented the change of many aspects regarding gender before no one was talking about it.

His discography is very extensive, and I’m very sure many are familiar with him.

But few have taken the time to listen to his work as it should.

A groundbreaking character in all aspects and a wonderful human being.

If you don’t know where to start listening, I suggest Life On Mars” and “Space Oddity.

If you liked it, check the respective albums, “Hunky Dory” and “Space Oddity,” for the full experience.

Living and experiencing femininity is very powerful, as we can see.

It has inspired and transformed the work of these amazing artists to shape them into big stars.

At the same time, it raises awareness and visibility for a community that has been hiding in the dark for far too long.

I hope you like all the artists here, even though I’ve tried to cover a wide range.

If you like this post, let me know in the comments so we can bring more content like this to you!

Hope to see you all soon! Love!
