Practical Crossdressing Props: Which Ones Are My Favourites?

10/31/2021

Using props during your crossdressing adventures is a huge step up from just doing makeup and wearing girly clothes.

It helps with the immersion, making you feel more feminine.

It also improves your crossdressing experience as a whole.

They are fun to use, and the variety of available props is actually high.

There are many different types which are suited for certain purposes.

Such variety grants that most crossdressers can find something useful.

And this way, they can improve their own experience.

Practical Crossdressing Props: Which Ones Are My Favourites?

My favorite props are generally those I can use to enhance my look and combine with my outfit.

I choose them based on how they look and on which benefits they bring me so that I can balance my choices.

Some of my favorites include a good pair of earrings, a choker necklace, and black gloves.

They make me feel feminine and can help me with my transformation in many practical ways.

In this article, I intend to explain why I consider these to be my favorites.

I’ll tell you how each one of them can be helpful to crossdressers, the proper way to use them, and much more.

Keep reading to find out some useful tips and learn more about the advantages of using props as a crossdresser!

1. Props-Corsets

Arguably, this can also be considered to be a piece of shapewear.

It may be, but it’s also a prop if you use it the right way.

I mean, as shapewear, it helps to reallocate body fat and reduce your waist.

That’s so you can achieve an hourglass figure and get closer to the idealized female shape.

But other simpler shapewear items can also do that, such as waist cinchers and trainers.

A corset, besides being more effective, also counts on an “esthetical” feature.

Some corsets are designed to look good, and this specific kind of corset I see as a prop.

They go well with goth, steampunk and classical outfits, but may also suit some modern looks as well.

The general idea is to use the corset on top of the rest of your clothes and not underneath.

This way, it accentuates your hourglass figure by adjusting your other clothes to it as well.

This is a nice way to get a well-defined silhouette without giving up on your favorite outfits, so it’s quite practical.

Black and red are common colors for this kind of prop, but you can adapt and buy whichever color you like to match your outfits.

Keep in mind that a corset may not be as comfortable as a waist cincher.

It means that you may need to endure more compression in order to wear it.

2. Props-Black pantyhose

Black pantyhose is my second favorite.

I use it to conceal imperfections in my legs, such as body hair.

They make my legs look both smooth and slender, so that’s another plus.

Some people avoid using it with black outfits because they think it will hide their legs.

It does have, however, a few advantages, even if your legs lose some highlighting.

The point is that it helps to make you look thinner and more feminine.

The combination of a black outfit with a black hose will create a continuous, straight black line.

This way, your silhouette will be outlined and enhanced, boosting the effect of shapewear and padding.

I like to make sure the hose is as thick as possible to blackout my legs completely when I’m aiming for such an effect.

The biggest downside is the extra heat from completely covering your legs.

That’s due to the fact that the black color, in general, absorbs heat from sunlight.

3. Knee-high socks

If you want the benefits from the previous prop added to some extra comfort, I recommend knee-high socks.

They don’t cover your whole legs, thus allowing your skin to breathe and absorb less heat.

There’s also a wider availability of colors so that you can use this one with a bigger variety of outfits.

It may not have the same straight-line effect since your tight skin will be visible, but it works almost the same way and is way more comfortable.

Besides that, you can cover what remains with a dress or a skirt and still be able to keep some ventilation down there.

It’s great for situations in which you may need more stamina and warmer weather.

The pantyhose technique, on the other hand, offers you more protection and is better for the cold.

It’s up to you to decide which one of these props will be better for your current situation and weather.

I wanted to point it out and make it clear that the use of props can be handy on different occasions and that adaptation is crucial.

4. Props-Earrings

These are nice to feminize your face and allow you to be more expressive.

Any facial accessories can help you look more feminine because this kind of prop is often associated with women.

I’ve chosen earrings because they are cheap, easy to store, and can be removed as you please.

You don’t even have to pierce your ears since pressure earrings are available as well.

A good tip is to choose the size of your earrings based on your hairstyle.

Short hair is better balanced with small earrings, while larger ones are needed if you want them to make a difference with longer hair or a wig.

Another cool thing about them is that you can customize earrings with a certain ease.

It allows you to create something unique that reflects your personality.

5. Silicone breast form vests

I mean, why not? A cleavage is something most crossdressers desire, and this is a good way to achieve a very convincing one.

They come in many colors, shapes, and cup sizes, so you’ll probably find one that suits your desired shape and matches your skin tone.

I love mine because it’s a multi-purpose prop.

Practical Crossdressing Props: Which Ones Are My Favourites?

Not only does it give me very realistic breasts, but it also helps me with two other crucial aspects of crossdressing.

First, as it goes up to my neck, it hides my Adam’s apple and blends seamlessly with my skin.

Second, it goes down to my belly, concealing my shapewear and allowing me to dress in more revealing outfits.

Both these features are due to the fact that it’s a whole silicone vest, almost a skinsuit.

Roanyer Silicone breast form may be my favorite prop since it boosts my chances of passability and makes me feel more like a girl.

Realism is the biggest advantage of this one, but it does require a bit more endurance and stamina to be worn for a long time.

6. Choker necklace

This prop is more of a complement to the previous one in my case, but it may help you by itself as well.

If you are using a silicone vest that doesn’t go all the way up to your neck or even a simpler silicone breast form, a choker can make it blend in better.

What I mean is that you can place the choker at the edge of the silicone, hiding the transition between it and your actual skin.

Even if you aren’t wearing any of these, a bigger choker can be used to hide your Adam’s apple.

It’s versatile, as it may help to either hide one of your most prominent masculine features or make your transformation more natural.

In either case, it’s a nice touch that deserves to be mentioned.

7. Gloves

I can’t even imagine myself talking about crossdressing props without mentioning those.

You see, there are many ways to make your hands more feminine, such as doing some skincare and polishing your nails.

However, not many of us have the time, skill, and patience required to try it.

That’s where gloves can help you by hiding your hands and feminizing the exterior a little bit.

A black lace glove will work, as well as a sheer black pantyhose to smoothen your hands and make them look slender.

Some of them go all the way up to your forearms and take the effect to another level.

Although more often associated with goth outfits, there’s a certain variety of gloves available, and one of them may fit your style.

Opera-length gloves are spot-on for some outfits, but others may benefit from a combination of long sleeves and small gloves.

As you can see, props can improve your crossdressing experience, so you can enjoy going beyond the basics.

The use of typical feminine props boosts the feeling of being a girl, and a few unusual ones can also be used to your advantage.

They are situational, and their effects are enhanced once you learn how to adapt to each situation.

What I mean is that each one of them has its advantages and drawbacks, and sometimes will do more bad than good.

However, if you learn how to judge such benefits and manage your props, you’ll notice a boost in both your femininity and your self-esteem.

I hope this article encourages you to use props more often and get the most out of your crossdressing experience!
