So how can you be feminine and fabulous without going broke? One of the ways is to shop during big sales. Many stores have clearance sales a few times a year where you can snag some great deals on clothing and accessories. You can also save by buying items that can be used for both your male and female wardrobes. For instance, a pair of black jeans can be worn with a button-down shirt for a masculine look or with a ruffled blouse for a more feminine look.

  1. I went to a second hand store and other than feeling anxious about trying on women’s clothes in a store, i found an absolutely beautiful formal dress for about $35.00. It was just a bit too snug to be able to zip it up though. It had the color of tag that signs said was half price so i reluctantly put it back on the rack. after another trip around the store and finding a pair of shoes that went perfectly with the too small dress. i mad my way back to the rack i had deposited the dress on. I took it down and looked it over and tried to figure out if I had some help if the dress would have been able to be zipped up. The material was quite thick and had a tie in the back. I decided since the shoes and dress were not terribly expensive i could afford to re donate them and not feel too bad if there was no way to fit into the dress. Upon check out i found that the dress was not the right kind of tag to be 1/2 price but went ahead with the purchase anyway. I had a Ralph Lauren mid length dress that is elegant and tasteful with nearly matching heels and an almost matching purse. But this dress was exquisite and beautiful and full length. It was a heavy material that was perfect for the fall weather and not having a wrap or sweater which i did not want to cover the dress any way…… the next day I went to a market where i found a place that was selling lingerie. I had found a pair of panties with padded hips there the week before that helped accent the look i was trying to achieve with my other dress. I inquired about a corset and having already discussed the store owner that i was looking for me. She helped me find a style that suited me. She actually came into the dressing room and showed me how to fasten in the front and then to spin this around rather than try to fasten behind the back. The size i needed she did not have but said she would stop and get one from her other store the next day on her way to work. I went in the next day but she had not yet arrived so walked around the market and in doing so i found some jewelry and scarves that went with my dresses. After about half an hour i went back and the clerk called her and she said she was still a few minutes out… stuck in traffic. After a bit more wandering i again went back and she had four variations for me to try on. With her help i was able to pick the one that would most likely do the best and be the least revealing to suit the look of the dress. I went back to shower and change for work. The following day after work, I showered and got ready for an attempt at dressing up. I started with a medium very high waisted tummy control panty which i put in a panty liner which was pointed out in an article helps to keep the panties fresh and also to keep the boys tucked up. Next i stepped into the corset with the back in the front and pulled it up to what we call the arming area. I then pulled its zipper and spun it around like a femme pro. With straps at their loosest I put my arms in the straps and made sure nothing was twisted. Satisfied that I was probably the only one twisted and i do enjoy being so… I took the beautiful dress from the hanger in the closet and set it on the bed. I untied the tie and opened up the top and pulled the zipper all the way down. I then stepped into the dress with the back in front of me. Triple top secret girlie thing I was now a party to. the corset was quite easy to turn around due to the super high waist of the tummy control panties and the slick material. The dress, i was able to zip up then had to turn it around as well. This also proved to be a simpler task than i had imagined since the corset was a slick satin material as well. Now i just had to tie the tie at the back ok start the music to Mission Impossible. i was not able to achieve this maneuver in spite of being overly flexible. I could not just leave the tie hanging and the sleeves were prone to fall with out it being tied. I ended up pulling it tight and crisscrossing it behind my back then pulling around the front and making a very small unnoticeable bow in front of me. A glance in the mirror was an ugly man in a dress. With the small addition of breast forms and a wig and the jewelry and red lipstick there was transformed a fair lady in a gorgeous exquisite dress. I would have asked me out but thought no, thats above my league. I could not afford me as a rental…A couple days later i went out with the addition of thigh highs and the padded panties. Arrived as before i described in athletic attire and finished transforming in the restroom. I sat alone at a table and was soon invited to join a group of ladies celebrating their friends 23rd birthday. I admittedly am younger looking than my age but my children are much older than this group. I felt very privileged to be asked to join them and it was an interesting evening with one of the gals showing me her bruises from a car accident earlier in the week which went from a good portion of her torso to nearly the top of her leg. Upon leaving, i decided i would walk just over a mile back in the new heels instead of changing as it was past being late it was early in the morning and i was not concerned with coworkers spotting me. i walked nearly 1/2 way but had a strap across the front of the shoes that was digging into my toes. I stopped and put on the tennis shoes i had in my bag. without the added height of the heels i now had to hike up my dress to avoid stepping on it. The wind was also blowing and was making my wig come across my face from time to time. I made it back from a memorable night and now in looking in the mirror i was a bit disheveled and only a bit less than exquisite. In retrospect I should have changed shoes much sooner as there was a hole in the top of my toe that took several days to heal. No regrets to the purchases I made at the thrift store. I probably had a dozen comments on my attire.
