The Pros and Cons of Being a Chubby Cross-dresser

11/12/2022

There’s no such thing as the perfect body type for cross-dressers. We must accept ourselves for who we are, as each person is unique. We come in every shape and size; some are chubbier than average. But there’s nothing wrong with us for that, even though the beauty standards try to say otherwise. Not only that, but there are also certain advantages to being like this.

The Pros and Cons of Being a Chubby Cross-dresser

You have a higher chance of passing as a woman. Your skin looks smoother, and your shapewear is more effective. There are a few cons related to self-esteem. But being chubby can be a positive thing, and my goal here is to explain how. If you want to know more, make sure you read this article!

1-Passability

The Pros and Cons of Being a Chubby Cross-dresser

“Passing” as a woman means that people can look at you without realizing that you are not cisgender. We use many feminization techniques to achieve that and create a seamless transformation. Among the said techniques, contouring might be the most important. It helps us achieve a smoother complexion. The goal is to round up your face, concealing the sharp edges and prominent jawlines. These are masculine features. This is much more difficult if you are too thin since such facial features are more well-defined. Makeup won’t be as effective if you overdo the contouring. It won’t look natural, hurting passability.

When it comes to people who are a bit overweight, we can say that they have some advantages. The extra fat can create a natural feminization of their facial features as the jawline won’t be so visible. It allows more subtle contouring, which is much more effective and natural. They also have a smoother complexion and less prominent masculine features. Therefore, they are more likely to pass as women with the help of proper makeup techniques and a wig.

2-Self-esteem

The Pros and Cons of Being a Chubby Cross-dresser

This is the major, if not single, the drawback in this situation. The media bombards us with propaganda about a particular lifestyle and beauty standards. Many of us grew up in similar circumstances. They try to make us feel bad about a lot of things. More often, for being overweight and not meeting their unrealistic expectations. They show a complete disregard for natural metabolism as well. Besides that, this standard is much more intense when directed toward women. They try to tie it to the concept of femininity altogether. Ultimately, they make girls worldwide believe they must match said specifications. Propaganda is everywhere in the media. From movies to ordinary clothing advertisements, they promote these nocive ideals. Because of that, it doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone that trans women are also affected by that. Some may even argue that transgender individuals are the most affected. That’s because of their usual self-esteem and confidence problems, let alone body dysphoria.

The Pros and Cons of Being a Chubby Cross-dresser

Idolizing certain body types makes us look down on our shape and become afraid of not being accepted. Some of us believe they will only be “proper women” if they have a physics-defying waist and a slim face. It is not a healthy line of thought since it harms our self-esteem. Accepting our bodies as cross-dressers or trans people is a considerable challenge. Still, we can do it given the proper advice. Look around and try to seek inspiration from looking at ordinary women. Notice their body shapes and how it doesn’t make them less feminine. Remember that most things you see in advertisements are photoshopped images. They’re edited to look more appealing to the eye. These standards fail to represent what a real woman looks like. Yet, they succeed in making us pursue unachievable goals for their profit. Focus on realistic objectives. This way, your feminization techniques can be more effective and grant you passability. This will lead you to better results, capable of lifting your morale!

3- Shapewear

The Pros and Cons of Being a Chubby Cross-dresser

Being a little chubbier makes shapewear more effective in a certain way, and I see that as a great advantage. You might be able to achieve some natural-looking curves in your silhouette. Corsets are beneficial in that aspect, as they relocate some of your body parts to strategic areas. It conceals your belly, adding volume to your buttocks and chest. The repositioned mass can be remodeled through a few more garments. Control top tights and butt-lifting panties will give you decent buns. Meanwhile, push-up bras should take care of your cleavage.

The point is that chubbier bodies are more malleable and easy to model. As a result, they require fewer prosthetics to be convincingly feminized. However, a few days of practice would be great since they would help you get used to the compression. The curves will look natural and much more convincing, which is harder to achieve as a skinny male.

4- Skin softness

Another good thing about being chubbier than average is that your skin will look smooth and soft. That is if you shave correctly. Smooth or soft skin is yet another characteristic attributed to women and femininity. Achieving that makes you pass even with more efficiency. The fat layer prevents it from looking stretched and hides some wrinkles. It diminishes the masculine aspect of your skin. This is good for our key regions, such as our arms, legs, and face. Being chubbier, rather than muscular or skinny, allows us to look less masculine.

Some may argue that being chubby can cause a few problems, such as oily skin and zits. It depends on the person, as it’s more of a hormonal thing. But you can make it more unlikely to happen through skin care. At least one shower per day with oil-control soaps, and exfoliate at least once a month. This will make your skin look much softer and more delicate. That is closer to the feminine standards of beauty. And for all accounts, the advantages seem to overshadow the risks.

Being chubby allows us to cross-dress more efficiently. Even if it means struggling to achieve idealized beauty standards. You must love your body and its peculiarities since they make you unique. Other body types have different pros and cons, which I may discuss in a future article. But no one should feel ashamed of who they are. Beauty standards are often impossible to achieve. Keep being yourself and never stop doing what you love! If you have anything else to add, feel free to comment! We would love to hear what you have to say.
