No crossdressing outfit is complete without a nice set of boobs! Breasts fill out tops, dresses, and lingerie.

They create realistic cleavage and flatter your body shape.

While breast forms aren’t for every crossdresser, trust them to take your presentation to the next level.

As a crossdresser, wearing fake boobs creates a more feminine silhouette.

They amplify your overall appeal.

But I’ll be doing you a disservice if I don’t mention the cons you need to consider before making an investment.

Saying “investment” means I’m not referring to the cheap paddings made of foam or beads.

I’m speaking about the more realistic ones, especially medical-grade silicone or custom-made breast forms.

1. You May Strain Your Budget

In exchange for quality and realism is dollar value.

The more realistic and high-quality, the higher the tag price.

You’re looking at spending $200 to $500 or more.

But hey, if you factor in their durability, easy maintenance, and versatility, I think you’re getting your bucks’ worth.

I don’t expect occasional crossdressers to drop that kind of cash upfront.

I don’t even encourage doing it.

It’s impractical and maybe even irresponsible to purchase something you don’t plan to use regularly.

2. You Must Maintain It

Like any prosthetic, fake boobs require care and upkeep to prevent damage, wear, and tear.

After each use, I thoroughly wipe down my breast forms to remove any makeup or body oils.

I then store them in a protective case.

Say I haven’t worn my breast form, can I just skip this upkeep?

No way. I don’t like flushing my dollars down the toilet. So I properly care for these items.

I schedule a regular check-up to see if I miss any cracks or color changes so I can repair my fake boobs immediately.

Once you get your own pair, you’ll understand my meticulousness.

3. You May Think They’re Restrictive or Uncomfortable

It’s normal to feel uneasy when you wear something for too long.

Breastforms, especially heavy ones, worn for long hours will lead to discomfort.

This takes getting used to. You’ll need to build up your tolerance over multiple wearings.

Some fake boob designs can also restrict arm movement or make it awkward to do tasks that require reaching or bending.

If you have an active lifestyle or career, fake boobs may not be the most practical option.

Look at it via the bright side though— you get to experience real big-boobed women’s struggles.

Should I Get a Pair of Fake Boobs?

It’ll depend on you. But I’ll give you a few pointers. Ask yourself:

• Is it within my budget?
• How often do I plan to use it? (Either exclusively for crossdressing or if you want to use it in cosplay or other things.)
• What’s my activity level? (Do you plan to wear your breast forms while doing rigorous stuff?)

If the drawbacks outweigh the benefits, explore alternative options.

No one will shame you for stuffing your bra with tissue paper either.

As long as it works, it works!

Best Fake Boobs to Try 

I consider myself a breast forms connoisseur thanks to the many options I’ve tried over the years.

Based on my experience, you’ll want to get a pair that matches your experience level.

Amateur

When I first started crossdressing, I wanted an easy and affordable option to create the illusion of breasts under my clothes.

Soft gel inserts worked perfectly for me. Other fake boobs beginners can try:

• Foam Paddings: The classic starter pack of foam padding.

They may shift here and there, so pin them in place.

• Soft Gel Filler: They’re made of a pliable gel material that I stuff into a bra pocket or pouch.

They’re very lightweight and comfortable to wear for long periods.

They’re also inexpensive, very ideal if you’re just experimenting with different breast forms.

Tube Top Silicone Breast Form: If you’re certain you’ll be a crossdresser for the long haul.

It’s motivating to get silicone breasts for their quality and realism.

Tube top designs are great for beginners anyway.

They feature small cup sizes and are very easy to wear and maintain.

Intermediate

Once I got comfortable with the gel inserts and wanted a more realistic look and feel, I saved up.

Finally, I was able to upgrade to my very first silicone breast form.

Some of my favorite silicone fake boobs I still have in my collection are:

• Round Collar Breast Form:  This one comes in B, and is the first one I picked.

I was petite back then, so B made my body look more proportional.

They let you skip other products as they already provide support and secure hold.

Still, it’s best to know what other products commonly come with fake boobs.

Bras

One of the most important accessories for crossdressing with fake boobs is finding the right bra.

Adhesive or stick-on bras are a popular choice since they stick directly to your chest without straps, creating a seamless look under clothing.

They also pull the boobs together to make them look more perky.

For long-term wear, I prefer an underwire bra for its support and shape. 

Bra Inserts

Bra inserts or “cutlets” slip into your bra cups to add volume and create natural-looking cleavage.

Silicone provides the most realistic weight and texture for fake boobs.

For the most natural effect, choose inserts that match your skin tone as closely as possible.

Adhesive Tapes

Tapes secure your inserts, breast forms, and clothing.

They can be your life-saver if you plan to crossdress with lots of movements.

Check your skin’s reaction to the adhesive first before using them with your breast forms.

You don’t want to irritate your whole chest area by skipping the patch test, do you?

Hip and Butt Pads

To fully attain that Coca-Cola bod, you’ll need to accentuate your bum and hips too.

The more protruding, the smaller your waist will appear to be.
