4 Steps For A Perfect Eyeliner; Making You A Magic Eye Beauty

So how do you apply the perfect eyeliner as a crossdresser?

It seems easy, but there is a reason why eyeliner is so hard to get right. It is mostly because you need to take note of some things before drawing in those perfect wingtips. Things such as your eye shape, the eyeliner pencil you are going to be using, and the pencil color. I will cover all these in this post, so stick around and let us dive in.

Step1: Figure Out Your Eye Shape

Everyone pretty much knows that different eyes are shaped differently. It is why someone can draw their cat eye one way, and it looks amazing for them, and then it looks weird for another person.

We have found that you can classify all the eye shapes into four general shapes, and each one has its peculiar method once you want to apply it. There is no big difference between male and female eyes; the only difference is that male eyes have a more deep-set and narrower appearance than female eyes.

These four classifications are:

Almond Eyes

Almond eyes are the most universal eye shape; they get their names from the almond nuts.

Almond eyes are slightly out swept in the outer corners on the bottom rim of the lower eyelid.

If you want to know whether you have almond eyes, look at the irises of your eyes in the mirror. Make sure you look straight ahead. If you cannot see the whites above and below the irises because they are slightly covered by the top and bottom eyelids, then you have almond eyes.

If you have almond eyes, you can rock almost any eyeliner style. In fact, almond eyes are the most perfect for eye makeup; so if you have almond eyes, lucky you!

For almond-eyed folks, you don’t need too many instructions or rules to watch out for. The best advice I can give is just to follow the natural shape of your eyes.

This means that the eyeliner should be drawn from the edge of the eye to the end of the eye, and then just build thickness towards the outer third half.

Want to know how to apply eyeliner for almond-shaped eyes, then the following video is a really great guide.

Monolid Eyes

A monolid is an eyelid shape that doesn’t have a crease. An eye that does have a crease is known as a double eyelid.

Monolid is typically a facial feature of East Asian people. However, other races may also have a monolid or an eyelid shape without a crease.

To apply eyeliner perfectly for monolid eyes, draw the eyeliner is upward, and make it a bit wider than normal. The eyeliner should be slightly thicker than normal.

The following video is great for you if you want to learn how to apply eyeliner for monolid eyes. Just follow it, and you will be rocking that banging cat-eye in no time!

Hooded Eyes

Hooded eyes are mostly found in elderly people, although young people may have it or be born with it.

Hooded eyes happen when your upper eyelids sag, creating a sort of hood over the eyes, and the outer corners of the eyes are downturned.

If you want to know if you have droopy eyelids or hooded eyelids, look straight at the mirror. Focus on your upper eyelids. Is there a sort of flap of skin that blocks off a part of your upper eyelids? Then you are on the right track. Now imagine drawing a line straight across the upper eyelids. Would the outer corners dip below the eyes? If yes, then you have hooded eyes.

To apply eyeliner on a droopy eyelid, a great tip is to make sure that the eyeliner is not lower than the eyes. The eyelids should be spaced apart when it meets the eyelashes.

Hooded eyes are really emotive, expressive eyes that can look really beautiful if the eye makeup is well applied. But if you get the eyeliner and eye makeup wrong, the eyes can look very tired, and that is not the effect we want.

Do you have hooded eyes? Then the following video should help you know exactly what to do to get the eyeliner shape that will bring out your beautiful eyes.

Round Eyes

Every part of the world has people with round eyes. These eyes are very striking in the sense that they always appear big and innocent. Round eyes are always very beautiful, so here’s a shout-out to all of you with round eyes.

To know whether you have round eyes, look straight at the mirror, Focus on your irises. Can you see the whites of your eye above and below the iris? Then you have round eyes.

When applying eyeliner to round eyes, a tip to note is that the beginning should be closer to the end of the eyes than the average eye shape. The flick should be pointy and thick, pointing upwards towards the tail of the eyebrows.

The following video should give you the tips you need to apply eyeliner for your round eyes the perfect way and look fabulous all day long.

So knowing your eye shape helps you in getting this tricky part of eye makeup.

Step2: Choose An Eyeliner Suits You Best

The eyeliner is a very important tool in eye makeup, whether you are a crossdresser or not. Getting the perfect eyeliner pencil is the difference between a fab cat-eye and one that looks very weird.

I will quickly walk through the different types of eyeliners you can use and what is best for you.

Gel Eyeliner

Gel eyeliner is the perfect eyeliner if you are a beginner. It comes in a wide selection of colors (seriously, a wide selection).

It also comes with co accessories like brush that is simple to use, and with applicator that retract, and eyeliner that can sharpen themselves.

And the best part, Gel eyeliner is fine eyeliner, and it does not smudge or move at all.

So, if you are a beginner or you just want the safe option when trying to put on your eyeliner, the gel eyeliner is the way to go.

Liquid Eyeliner

Liquid eyeliner is, in my opinion, the best kind of eyeliner. It is smooth water and waterproof.

It is also non-staining, so it does not smudge, and you can wear it the whole day without having to reapply, and you can, in theory, sleep in it.

Liquid eyeliner helps strengthen the end of the eye, and the pencil tip is fine and soft, very hard to split.

However, it is only good for you if you are a bit more experienced in applying eyeliner and more comfortable with the whole process.

So, if you are a boss at applying eyeliner, and you want that fierce cat-eye look all day, then this eyeliner is the way to go.

Differences Between Gel Eyeliner and Liquid Eyeliner

What makes the gel eyeliner different from the liquid eyeliner?

In simple words, the gel eyeliner is suitable for newcomers and beginners, and it is also best for an everyday makeup look.

The liquid eyeliner, on the other hand, is suitable for those who are a bit more experienced in applying eye makeup and eyeliner in particular. It is smooth in shape and bold, so it is more suitable for a more formal and intense look like dates, parties, galas, and so on.

The difference between a glamorous eyeliner look and a tacky one can be your eyeliner. Knowing what eyeliner suits you and when you should use it is a lifesaver. Keep this in mind when buying an eyeliner.

Step3: Choose Eyeliner Colors

Colors are also an important part of the overall feel of your eyeliner look; the reason is because of eye and skin colors.

You probably know about colors from fashion. A lot of the things you know about clothes and their colors apply when it comes to eyeliner. Complementary colors are usually a good option, and black goes with everything.

Here are some colors you can go with when choosing your eyeliner.

Black

Black eyeliner is suited for all looks. In fact, black was the first eyeliner color, used by people in Ancient Egypt, Ancient India, and so on. Black eyeliner can be worn in so many ways, but it is the most striking when it is worn as part of heavy makeup. It is a fierce and slightly wild look. It makes people take notice of you. When done right, black eyeliner can go beautifully with all eye colors and every skin color. For example, it will need to be subtler for fairer-skinned people and darker and more pronounced to show on darker skin. If you want to go to a party or go to a dance, choose black!

Brown

Brown eyeliner is more muted than black, so it is more suited for everyday looks. It is more subtle and so can be worn at any time of the day. Like black color, brown eyeliners can look great with any kind of eye color and any skin tone. It just depends on how it is done.

Other Colors

Somewhere earlier in this post, I mentioned that eyeliner comes in a lot of colors, from red to blue to even silver. This is really where your understanding of color should come in. Complementary colors, for example, will always be a great option when using eyeliner that is not black or brown. White eyeliner can pop against black eyes and black skin, for instance. This post contains a great guide to choosing colors when you are considering applying eyeliner.

So, find the best color for you and the occasion, and get glammed up to the max!

Step4: 5 Tricks to Get A Perfect Eyeliner

These fives are the ones I recommend for you to get the perfect eyeliner. Whether you are a crossdresser beginner or not, these tips are simple for you to get.

Posture for Drawing Eyeliner

Posture is also another important thing you must take note of when trying to apply eyeliner. A correct posture minimizes shaky hands and can go a long way in making sure the eyeliner application is symmetrical. So what is the best posture for drawing eyeliner?

• Find a comfortable position with your arms propped up on the table

• Hold your palms against your face

• Hold the eyeliner pencil diagonally, and draw slowly.

Your position should be comfortable enough that you can hold your arms up and steady without it getting tired. Also, make sure that your eyes are slightly open so that you will be able to correctly see what you are doing with the eyeliner.

Draw a Small Triangle

Draw a line flat in the direction of the corner of your eye and connect it with the base of your lashes to form a small triangle. Don’t color in, instead, line the upper and lower lids and go around the outer corner lightly.

Fill in The Inner Corner Eyeliner

You can do the feeling in two ways, the dabbing method and the pencil-tip horizontal pressing method. The dabbing method is simply using an eyeliner brush to dab the liner into the line you created. The pencil tip horizontal pressing method simply uses the pencil tip to fill in space.

You can start with the lower lids or the upper one. Whatever you do, make sure you pull the lids taut to the side to steady your lids.

I have also discovered that a trick is to keep the lines as close to the inner corner eyelid as you can and try not to overlap. Also, move slowly. There is no prize for being the first one to put on the eyeliner. What people really care about is whether the eyeliner is good or not.

Fill in The Triangle in One Direction

When you fill the triangle in one direction, it makes your eyeliner look orderly and natural, and it helps with getting your look properly.

Use a truncated drawing method for the bottom eyeliner

The lower eyeliner is a bit different from the upper because it’s smaller, and the angle is different. Using this truncated method will reduce mistakes and tie your eye makeup together.

A few things you must note before applying your eyeliner. Make sure your pencil is sharpened to a very fine tip. This helps increase precision and gets rid of any bacteria that may have settled on the pencil before. Also, make sure that you have a cotton swab or tissues close by so you can quickly rectify any mistakes. After all, mistakes are human, aren’t they?

3 Notes for Applying Eyeliner

The eyeliner game can be tricky because so much of the success of eye makeup depends on getting the eyeliner just right. So here are a few things you should know.

1. Apply eyeliner after applying eye shadow and wearing false eyelashes. This means that you can blend the whole look and come out looking smashing.

2. For the lower eyeliner, draw the eyeliner in first before you apply the mascara. This is so that the mascara will not obstruct the pencil when you try to line.

3. Use a special eye and lip remover When removing your makeup, especially eyeliner. After applying this removal, put a cotton pad on your eyes for about two minutes, then take it off. Your eye makeup will come off smoothly.
