5 tips to make your eyebrows more feminine

Your eyebrows are one of the most defining features in your face, and can usually make a huge difference for your overall appearance. when dressing up, you’ll want to make sure that you give your eyebrows the correct treatment, because it can really do wonders to make you look more feminine and help you pass, so I’ll bring here 5 easy tips to help you improve your eyebrow care techniques.

1- Pluck your brows with a pincer

I always recommend plucking over waxing, because it hurts the lesser. This method is really useful to get rid of unwanted pieces of hair, as well as it's practical, because you can do it at basically any time, and all you’ll need is a pincer and a mirror to check your progress. If you are not so confident to do it yourself, you can ask a friend to help you, or even go to a hairdresser or barber shop, because they are used to that and you’ll get a professional treatment.

The only downside with this method is that, if you haven't come out as a crossdresser yet, it might make that a bit more difficult to hide, because your eyebrows won't be as masculine as they were, so people might notice and start to ask you some questions.

2- Use makeup to outline your eyebrows

This method can take a little more time than the previous, and you’ll have to do it every single time when you put on your makeup, but it helps to keep your masculine eyebrows when you are not dressed up, so it's quite useful if you are not openly a crossdresser. Well, basically, the method consists in hiding part of your eyebrows with foundation, creating an all new shape for your eyebrow’s outline. It is very important that the foundation matches your natural skin tone, so it blends with your skin and creates a seamless illusion when reshaping your eyebrows.

Another useful tip here, is that you should only apply the foundation under your eyebrows, not above, because this way you can go for a more natural look, keeping part of the natural shape of your eyebrows.

3- How to properly trace and define your eyebrows

Now that we have settled down a few methods for reshaping your eyebrows, i’ll explain exactly what shape you might want to achieve. To get a perfect feminine shape, 1) your eyebrow might start right after your nose bone ends, 2) it needs to arch after about ⅔ of the length of your eyes and 3) end in parallel with the border of your eyes. I know, it sounds somewhat complicated, so I here is an image that might help you understand it better:

4- Try an eyebrow pencil for highlighting

Very thin eyebrows can end up blending into your face, and if that happens, they won't play their part in feminizing your face, because people will barely notice them. So, if you're not happy with the thickness of your eyebrows, and you feel that they are hard to notice, try an eyebrow pencil. Use the pencil to trace the whole length of your brows, in a manner that you fill them. Doing so will help to highlight your eyebrows and make them appear thicker and bushier, and easier to notice. A properly highlighted eyebrow will certainly frame your eyes and help to feminize your whole face

5- Combing

Combing your eyebrows with a proper brush is very recommended, because it makes all the previous steps easier. First of all, make sure to brush them in the direction that they grow, and comb them softly. After you go through all of its extension, keep an eye for hairs that extend past the “limit” of the natural outline, and trim them with a scissor. Repeat the same process for both eyebrows, and then comb them again to maintain their shape. That process will help to define the natural shape of your eyebrows, so you can have a better idea of the shape you’ll want to achieve, Also, combing will make it easier to pluck unwanted pieces of hair under the outline, as well as to cover them with makeup, helping to feminize your face and enhancing your overall look.

After you go through all of these steps, I'm sure you’ll be happier with your appearance, and you’ll be one step closer to passing, if that's your goal. That might also improve your self-esteem and help you to avoid body dysphoria.
