How to practice crossdressing skills by yourself
When you live by yourself, practicing crossdressing skills might be a little tricky, because sometimes it's hard to learn and practice something without someone to help and teach you. If you are a crossdresser tho, there is even a chance you’ll want to keep it a secret and might prefer not to tell anyone, and in that case you won't be able to ask a friend for advice. So, what to do when you are on your own, wanting to get better at crossdressing and practicing your skills, but can’t count on anyone at the moment? You may find the answer on the following tips.
1- Prepare the basics
If you are doing it alone, it's better to have everything you need at hand before you start, so some research might help. Make sure that you know exactly what you want to practice, so you never run out of the items you need to do so. The best method to do so, is by searching for lists and common techniques used by other crossdressers. For example, if you want to practice makeup, make sure to know exactly what kind of foundation fits your face the best, what tone of eyeshadow you like, and what tools you need to apply that makeup, such as pencils, brushes and probably a mirror as well. If you want to practice putting on shapewear, try getting a big mirror so you can see your whole body while dressing up and even try some clothes with real time feedback.
2- Buy online
Going out to shop for clothes, makeup and shapewear is easier if you are confident enough to enter the women’s section on stores by yourself, but that is not always the case, and a lot of crossdressers tend to go there in the company of female friends that help them feel more comfortable. However, if you lack both confidence and the availability of that kind of friend, there is still hope. Shopping online grants you some privacy, because no one will see you buying, but be careful with your internet search history if you don't want anyone to know exactly what you have been shopping for. The best part of it is that you’ll be able to find anything that you need without even needing to get out of the comfort of your home. Once you’re familiarized with online shopping, you’ll be able to buy underwear, shapewear and even makeup on the web, with no need to be ashamed, because no one will actually see you doing that. Although i wouldn't exactly recommend it because of legal reasons in some countries, using your crossdresser name or a new generic female name while creating online shopping accounts can help you to protect your privacy a bit more.
3- Research for tips with experienced crossdressers online
The internet is a very large place, and basically everyone is there nowadays, as well as a bunch of crossdressers with years of experience in dressing up. If you are reading this article, you probably already know that there are some websites such as this one that are directed specifically for crossdressers, and they are generally filled with very useful articles and tutorials aiming to help other crossdressers to complete their transformations. Spend some time reading them, and soon your head will be full of new ideas that might help you as well, and you’ll be able to follow them while practicing to perfect your skills. If you learn better by watching videos, try heading to the roanyer channel on youtube, where you might find answers and new techniques, as well as suggestions of products designed specifically to help you with that. There are a lot of crossdressers on youtube and the internet in general, sharing their own experiences with anyone who wants to hear, so all you’ll have to do is listen to them, because doing that will keep you well informed on the subject and present you to a whole new world of knowledge.
4- Keep an eye on forums
If you are looking for some feedback on your progress without letting your friends and family knows that you are a crossdresser, I strongly recommend you to visit online forums on that subject. There, you will not only be able to find new tips and relevant questions that might interest you, but will as well be able to make your own questions and even post some pictures of your progress to get some feedback. Just keep in mind not to trust people at first sight on the internet, and watch out for your privacy. When frequenting those websites, try using an anonymous tab so you don’t have to clear your browser history every now and then. Also, try creating a new email and using a made up crossdresser name, so the chances of getting it associated with your real name is lower.
Follow these tips and keep practicing every time you can! It may take some time, so don't give up on your dreams and keep trying, and you’ll excel at the art of crossdressing on your own merit.
